Day:Day 1

We actually left San Francisco on time. KT took me and my stuff, my water, my television, bicycle, up through the fog to the top of Twin Peaks. And there she was, 34' of Bounder glory. CD player in the dashboard, beds, beds, water, I stowed all the makings of sangria in one of the compartments under the bed. Bags went in the back bedroom. And nine of us were off, cloud factory types, KT, Blink, Yoshi, Kia, Ian.....more. I was giddy. I had just come off of a fabulous, fabulous unbelievable day. The date I had been waiting for forever, that kind of day....and here I was off into the night at 2 am, heading east. Love and Rockets blared as I quickly retired to the back bedroom and laid down. The music was ethereal, the stars shining as the city lights were left behind. I had sweet memories of two arms wrapped around me for hours floating through my head, a scent still in my hair from where his arm was wrapped around my shoulder as we sat and talked. There was no better place to be, absolutely NONE.
I soon fell asleep for a couple hours around 3 am. The RV was rocking and swaying and it was Blink and KT with me all huddled together on the huge bed, but I slept for a short time. And then my eyes were again open, and the sky was dim. Blink had started out driving, so I knew 5 had taken over. I got up and walked to the passenger seat. Everyone else was asleep. Techno was playing to keep 5 awake. I sat down. Where I last saw industrial buildings there now were forests, pine trees, and mountains. The sky ahead was a light blue. I had awoke for the sunrise. Transistion into a different space, the black shadows of the surrounding mountains became more pronounced as dawn approached. We past a sign for the town of Donner. Somewhere soon after as it grew light we crossed into Nevada. We entered Reno by 6:30. I got some coffee at the Texaco.
It's now 11 am and we are STILL in the Reno area. The idiots who we rented our generator from gave it to someone else, but we have the replacement and Blink is picking up scaffolding in the truck we have rented along with this RV. The Techno is still going. It's getting hot. Reno is very weird. I have never been in Nevada before. Casinos everywhere. At a stop in a store that took WAY TOO LONG I played a slot machine. I had one quarter, I won it back and a dollar extra. I am a very punctual person and when you get a bunch of people in a strip mall it's always irritating, I find. Everyone going off in their own ways......I'm not good at it, it made me aggro. But now we are waiting for Blink to get some parts for the generator, so it doesnt really matter. I am tired, I could sleep, but it's hot.
Yesterday is a pleasant place to return to in my daydreams. It was wonderful. Sitting on a foggy beach against a giant log of driftwood, I'd look up behind me and he was sprawled on the log, his black boots under the blue jeans, black leather jacket. We saw and heard elk in the mists....and when he left my home after 10 pm. We hugged for many seconds, and it felt so good. I was wowed. And the best thing is....so was he. How often does this happen? I've never had this happen, where you meet and it just melts into something, like it was meant to be.....
Shit. We arent even in the legit desert yet, and it's fucking hot out. Water, water, water.
